Menopause Type® Twelve has symptoms that reveal decreased estrogen function, decreased progesterone function, and excessive testosterone function. Health risks associated with Menopause Type® Twelve may include osteoporosis and heart disease. Since estradiol deficiency and excessive testosterone both affect blood glucose metabolism, there is also increased risk of insulin resistance and blood sugar disorders. Risks associated with insulin resistance include increased risk of heart disease, diabetes and endometrial cancer.
Determination of this menopause type® is made through the use of the Menopause Type® Questionnaire, and/or lab tests.
