Menopause Type® Two has symptoms that reveal adequate estradiol and progesterone function, but decreased testosterone function. Health risks associated with Menopause Type® Two may include vulvar disorders, decreased muscle mass, depression, osteoporosis and angina pectoralis (chest pain). Because testosterone function works so closely with estrogen function in maintaining the health of many tissues, some symptoms that are traditionally considered signs of poor estrogen function may be present with poor testosterone function, especially mood and memory. Once testosterone function is supported back to normal function, any minor symptoms of suboptimal estrogen or progesterone are usually rapidly corrected.
Determination of this menopause type® is made through the use of the Menopause Type® Questionnaire, and/or lab tests.
